Marcos moved into Miami main draw because Davydenko, Moya, Ginepri, Nishikori and Petzschner have withdrawn from the tournament.
The wildcard spot can be used up by another player.

Marcos has been handed a wildcard for the Serbia Open (May 4 - 10). Main draw will be released at 7.00pm today. www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/101199 Djokovic helps bring tournament to SerbiaThe inaugural Serbia Open should give the Balkan country's youth the kind of entertainment they missed during years of international isolation, tournament director Goran Djokovic said. The May 4-10 event will be the first high profile tennis tournament, apart from Davis and Fed Cups, to be held in Serbia and Novak Djokovic's uncle Goran believes it will draw big crowds. "Young people in Serbia have been deprived of travel and global entertainment during an era of conflict and the country's international isolation," Goran Djokovic told Reuters. "We expect fans to throng to the newly-built courts in Belgrade and we have expanded the centre court capacity to 7,900 seats from 7,000 because of increased tickets demand. "It took an incredible amount of energy, enthusiasm and investment from our own, personal funds, but Novak's ATP ranking and status was the key factor in putting it on the map." The tournament, organized and chaired by world number three Novak's family with the aid of Serbian authorities, will be held in a picturesque old area of Belgrade, at the confluence of its two rivers -- the Sava and the Danube. Although Novak Djokovic will not face a strong field on home soil, the participation of several respectable clay court contenders should provide some on-court excitement too. The Czech Republic's world number 19 Radek Stepanek and Cypriot wildcard entry Marcos Baghdatis, the 2006 Australian Open finalist, are expected to be Djokovic's toughest challengers.

www.aegonchampionships.com/1/news/2009/Baghdatis_gets_wild_card.aspBaghdatis Awarded Wild Card After Nishikori WithdrawsFormer Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis has been awarded a wild card into the AEGON Championships at The Queen’s Club after Kei Nishikori was forced to withdraw with an elbow injury. Baghdatis burst onto the world scene with an extraordinary run to the 2006 Australian Open final, and then reached the Wimbledon semifinals six months later with victories over Andy Murray and Lleyton Hewitt. We are thrilled that Marcos Baghdatis will play at the AEGON Championships,” said Tournament Director, Chris Kermode. He has real charisma and is one of the most talented tennis players in the world. I’m sure he will prove to be very popular with spectators at The Queen’s Club. At the same time, it’s a shame that Kei Nishikori is injured as he had a fantastic run to the last 16 last year and won a set against Rafael Nadal. We wish him a speedy recovery. Often compared to Andre Agassi for his mannerisms and ball-striking ability, Baghdatis played a memorable match against the American at Agassi’s final Grand Slam appearance in the 2006 US Open. The Cypriot reached No.8 in the World Rankings that year, but a difficult time with injuries followed, and he is now ranked No.82. Baghdatis will line up in a field at the AEGON Championships that features the current World No.1, Wimbledon and Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal, the World No.3 Andy Murray and four-time champions Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt. Marat Safin, James Blake, Marin Cilic and Gilles Simon have also signed up to appear. =================================================== So, Marcos plays Queens instead of Halle. What I find embarrassingly stupid is that Marcos keeps begging tournaments organisers for WCs instead of playing qualies. But it takes testicular fortitude to play qualies... I shouldn't be surprised...

Upcoming tournaments- Marcos signed up to play Indianapolis Tennis Championships in Indianapolis, USA (July 20 - 26).
- Marcos is second on the alternates list in the LA Tennis Open in Los Angeles, USA (July 27 - August 2).
- He will most likely sign up to play Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington DC, USA (August 3 -9). Well, hopefully he'll be on the main draw as the field there is usually very weak... The entry deadline is June 22. After Wimbledon, Marcos will face the difficult task to catch up the rankings... he will be ranked around 200 by then.
I really do hope he has some skilled advisers behind him. Pame Marko!

Well, Marcos isn't on the entry list in Legg Mason Tennis Classic. Perhaps he has decided to sign up to play the qualies in Rogers Cup (Montreal). If that is the case, I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that's the time when Marcos started to mature...

================================================= hehe, Infantino and his connections with Argentine tennis influenced Marcos greatly. Nice to hear something a bit different.

From Marcos' official site: www.baghdatis.com/articles/view/marcos-withdraws-Marcos has withdrawn from the LG & T Tennis Challenger in Binghamton. Marcos had been due to face Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz in the first round on Tuesday; he was replaced in the draw by a lucky loser. It was an extremely busy week for Marcos last week at the Odlum Brown Van Open in Vancouver, winning the singles title and reaching the doubles semi-finals. With a tight schedule presented to him in Binghamton, he was too tired to do justice to his campaign. “We obviously were all disappointed. We wanted to see him play tonight,” stated Tournament Director, Laurie Bowen. “Luckily for one young man, a lucky loser got in and he gets to be part of the tournament and the main draw.” Marcos will now take a week to rest before hopefully participating in the qualifying tournament for ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Cincinnati, where main draw action begins Sunday. He will then play at Pilot Pen Tennis in New Haven. ============================================== According to his official site, Marcos has asked for a WC for the qualies in Cincy, hahahaha. Dunno what to say, the guy has lost it... firstly, he snubbed the US Open qualies, then he begs for a WC for the qualies of a smaller and less prestigious tournament... Really, Marcos... He also states that he has already handed a WC for the main draw in New Haven, although it's not officially confirmed. Sorry but I can't believe him, he reminds me of the Aesop's tale with the shepherd boy and the wolf. So, those two tournaments take a question mark: 1. Cincinnati (August 15-23, qualies included) 2. New Haven (August 24-30)

Other upcoming tournaments without a question mark this time... 1. Davis Cup, Finland-Cyprus (September 18-20) www.daviscup.com/ties/tie.asp?tie=100012312No way Marcos misses the Davis Cup matches, as we all know how obsessed he's with DC. Yiannos Hatjigeorgiou doesn't want to help him either... Yiannos, for instance, doesn't hesitate to let him play with one leg... 2. Getta you know how happy I'd be to have an opportunity to see Marcos play. But that list surprises me. Because the main singles draw will only have 28 players. I don't think Marcos will enter directly, unless he gets a WC or he plays qualies.

Choupi - this is the official entry list from ATP Player zone. Marcos isn't on there, and he won't play qualies because DC is the same weekend as Metz quallies, but I'm 90% sure he'll get a Wild Card into the main draw.
I may even see you there, for a few days as Janko is also playing Metz. 1 Monfils, Gael FRA 13 2 Robredo, Tommy ESP 16 3 Kohlschreiber, Philipp GER 25 4 Mathieu, Paul-Henri FRA 27 5 Chardy, Jeremy FRA 36 6 Gasquet, Richard FRA 38 7 Beck, Andreas GER 41 8 Santoro, Fabrice FRA 44 9 Petzschner, Philipp GER 45 10 Zverev, Mischa GER 46 11 Becker, Benjamin GER 48 12 Nieminen, Jarkko FIN 53 13 Ljubicic, Ivan CRO 56 14 Benneteau, Julien FRA 58 15 Tipsarevic, Janko SRB 59 16 Lu, Yen-Hsun TPE 60 17 Mayer, Leonardo ARG 62 18 Rochus, Christophe BEL 63 19 Youzhny, Mikhail RUS 65 20 Golubev, Andrey KAZ 66 21 Istomin, Denis UZB 74 22 (Q) 23 (Q) 24 (Q) 25 (Q) 26 (WC) 27 (WC) 28 (WC)

Well, Marcos is very appreciated and I'm sure Boutter will give him a WC. And it would be nice to meet you again. Though, because of work, I will only be there on Monday and then, on Saturday and Sunday.
