Marcos and Jérémy lost to Levinsky and Scherrer 6-3 6-2. Never in doubt of the outcome. Levinsky and Scherrer are experienced doubles players. Especially Levinsky... Just for the record, Marcos was paired up with Levinsky at AMS Rome in 2007 and they did actually a decent job there. I saw the match. Good thing is that Marcos and Jérémy really enjoyed their afternoon on court laughing all the time. Not that surprising from Marcos, didn't expect it from Jérémy though. A fan of him (Tijn) said elsewhere that was not surprising either. Both Marcos and Jérémy knew it was not real, they took a playful attitude towards it.

www.tennistalk.com/en/match_report/SA_Tennis_Open/2009/Marcos_Baghdatis_-_David_FerrerSA Open – Ferrer stuns Baghdatis in straights2/7/09 5:50 AM | Cheryl MurrayDavid Ferrer scored an impressive win over Marcos Baghdatis on Friday in the quarterfinals of the South African Open. Cyprus native Marcos Baghdatis started off the match in excellent form. For the first half of the first set, the Cypriot served at over 90% and it appeared that the match was going to be a tightly contested encounter – and it was until the waning moments of the set. At 5-6, with Baghdatis serving to send the set to a tiebreaker, Ferrer earned his first breakpoint (which also happened to be a set point). After an extended rally, Baghdatis finally hit a forehand error, and just like that, the set was done. Ferrer really started to find his range in the second set. Baghdatis was clearly deflated by his failure to send the first set to a tiebreaker, and Ferrer was there to take advantage. The Spaniard was fierce on the return. He converted both break points he earned, and did not face any more break points on his own serve. Baghdatis was kept pinned behind the baseline, reacting to Ferrer’s rhythm and ground strokes. Ferrer will take on France’s Jeremy Chardy in the semifinals on Saturday.
