too good of a draw for Marcos to be able to screw it up, even if he wanted to...
which he doesn't...

Marcos withdrew from Basel ....... It is rumoured that he will withdraw from Paris, as well.

well, he's taking the rest of the year off. Marcos had played his best tennis of the year in beating Federer in Indian Wells and Nadal in Cincinnati, and with a 43-27 matches he stands at his 48-22 record matches in 2007 and has repeatedly proved his worth as a tennis player. now, he's already focusing on next season, yet never was asked which honour he prefers. la légion d'honneur, he would have answered with a smile.

The same thing happened at AO-2010 (full week at Sydney & 2 matches at AO) with his shoulder. Markos since he splitted with "French connections" and he moved his base in Cyprus, HE DOES NOT HAVE PLACE TO TRAIN. So he decided (with Infantino - ex-coach and they keep doing the same with new coach) to ENTER EVERY WEEK ONE TOURNAMENT and USE THE INSTALLATIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT FOR TRAINING. When he reaches to QF, they (Markos & his team) have free hostitallity for entire week. They break only after major events (after AO, before the clay season, after Wimbledon & after US open) I am not saying that what they did is wrong. Since he does have a prober training camp to go (as he has in Paris) he is doing this. The penalty he pays for this is tireness to move around the world, etc. etc. well, he's taking the rest of the year off.
