thanks, Michael. Marcos can either make a first round exit at Wimbledon (if he gets, for instance, an opening match against the most dangerous floater handed to him, Gasquet on grass that is) or lift his first Grand Slam. in any case, strongly hope he elevates his game gradually as the opponents get harder. let's focus on the real opponent now. Marcos will find Pete Luczak waiting for him in four hours. vamos, Marcos!

Marcos lost the first set 7-5.
he started playing horrendous, lost his serve in the second game, broke back in the fifth game, only to lose his serve again in the 12th game after saving two set points.
Marcos made an hesitant entrance and Pete, a clay-court player, put him under pressure... Marcos has to perform a task under these circumstances...

Pete defeated Marcos 7-5 6-1. genuinely happy for Pete. he's a nice guy and it's great to see a nice guy win. and, i got surprised by Marcos' smartness. in a subtle and underplayed way, Marcos keeps his goals close to him and sets the audience less high expectations for him... he's just playing his cards close to his chest... happy birthday, Marcos

Quite strange. Marcos did well this year in clay but not in grass. This doesn't mean anything of course, we will see at Wimbledon!!
