[quote author=getta board=general thread=166 post=2111 time=1274909600 speaking about Androula (Marcos' Mum) and ... pasta, i guess you know that Marcos' favourite food is his Mum's lasagne. [/quote] He's a good boy It's obvious he adores his Mum and she is so proud of him too - it's lovely to see. He looks so much like her as well - their mouths are identical! There was another lady with Androula - perhaps his Auntie? Wasn't formally introduced so I'm not sure, but I chatted a lot to her. They were both lovely women and both so nervous right through the matches.

I just loved this interview with Marcos www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/news/interviews/2010-05-27/201005271274983654250.htmlEspecially this section where he acknowledges the extremely hard work and dedication from the people around him. So many players seem unaware of the hard work (and often sacrifices) that their coaches, FTs etc have to make for them - often for very little reward, and with disruption to their own family circumstances. I'm glad that Marcos has stopped to consider how important Eduardo, Pancho, Martin and Horacio are to his current success. Q. Do you think having someone like the coach you have at the moment, who is someone that's spent a lot of time coaching people, on clay especially, is beneficial to you at this period for you? MARCOS BAGHDATIS: For sure. Not only because of the clay, but for from the time I started working with him, you know, he gives me basically a lot of solutions. That's very important. So he's a very smart guy. Very passionate. He believes in me. I think he's done a great job with me, and also with the whole team. You know, he brought the whole team around me. He built a whole team around me that are working for me. They're all good in what they do, so that's really important.

Andy in a light-hearted interview for BBC yesterday. among other things, he also referred to the respect and positive feelings he and Marcos have developed towards each other. ========================================================================== news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/tennis/8710033.stmThursday, 27 May 2010 23:15 UK Crosswords saved Andy Murray from rain delay boredom

going back and carefully looking at the data, i, a Greek, love Marcos and Andy equally and Rose, a Brit, prefers Marcos to win. that's perhaps a straightforward kind of irony.

Guess it is kind of ironic - though never forget when it comes to Brits - I am most definately English whilst Andy is most definately Scottish........... which makes us somewhat similar to Chileans v Argentines!
