bet365 commentator commenting on Marcos' match against Chiudinelli yesterday: prior to the beginning of the match: Baghdatis this year nothing special, but not too shabby... 1st set, 4th game (Marcos broke Chiudi's serve): great defence of Baghdatis... 1st set, 7th game: Baghdatis seems happy how's playing so far... deserved so far... 1st set, 9th game (Marcos serving for the set): lovely serve... i missed the first five games of the second set, cause i was celebrating Gaston's win in Zagreb. 2nd set, 7th game (Marcos broke Chiudi's serve): Marcos in the driving seat at the moment. 2nd set, 9th game: Marcos smells the corners. 2nd set, 10th game (Marcos serving for the match): absolutely exceptional by Marcos! Marcos' statistics: lovely serve indeed. winners: 28 unforced errors: 27 net points won: 9/15 break points won: 2/5 ======================================================================== unfortunately, no matter what attitude Marcos brings on the court today, he's toast if Ferrer has a normal day in the office. these photos were taken by me in Barcelona during Ferrer's match against Marcel Granollers, and that's only three weeks ago. David Ferrer can be scarily vicious, and not only on the dirt... and, Marcos learnt his lesson the hard way.

Marcos lost the second set 6-3. i'm afraid he tactlessly blew his big chance.

www.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2010/05/19/Madrid-Wednesday-Murray-Makes-Strong-Start.aspxFerrer Saves Match Point Madrid, Spain by ATP Staff | 12.05.2010Spaniard David Ferrer called on all his famed fighting qualities as he saved one match point to defeat Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis 1-6, 6-3, 7-5. Baghdatis had led 4-2, 40/0 in the final set and held a match point on Ferrer’s serve in the 10th game before the ninth seed hit back to win the final three games and seal victory in two hours and 38 minutes. World No. 12 Ferrer has been in a rich vein of form of late, reaching his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final two weeks ago at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia (l. to Nadal). He also reached two clay-court finals in Latin America in February, finishing runner-up in Buenos Aires (l. to Ferrero) before capturing his eighth ATP World Tour title in Acapulco (d. Ferrero).
