Right after Indian Wells, and after beating Roger Federer there, Marcos will head Miami, full of self confidence and obviously ready to fight. Let's hope he can keep up the good results, together with his team there. Official site of the event: www.sonyericssonopen.com/No draws out yet.

I watched the match on TV and was extremely impressed with Marcos' focus and attitude. He played really well In fact a couple of our commentators are even tipping him to win this title - hope that's not the "kiss of death"! I wish him luck in the next round, even though I admit I am a big Cilic fangirl so it will be hard for me.

Marcos lost to Marin Cilic 3-6 4-6. not shocked at Marcos’ defeat because it was kind of expected. Marin didn’t really find himself facing a tight situation in the match. time to move from the American hard courts onto European clay.

a few things i forgot to mention in my previous posts: - during Marcos’ match against Chela someone in the crowd, a bored spoilt teen i guess, shouted something to Marcos while Marcos was ready to receive serve. anyway, Marcos seemed to be extremely annoyed and Lars Graff, the chair umpire, asked him if he wanted to call security. Marcos was surprised by Lars’ eagerness to establish the rule of law and denied the security’s interference with a smile. the incident was ironically funny to me because the difference between Marcos’ Mediterranean and Lars’ Scandinavian attitude was too obvious there, but also was something more than that. so, i looked for more info on Lars Graff and i found a very interesting interview he gave in 2003. Lars revealed many things about the umpire’s life and, what a surprise, also said that he was in the military for 10 years… and suddenly it all makes sense.
- Marcos’ match against Cilic was rather boring. well, Marin was solid but nothing spectacular (i’ve seen him playing a lot better in the past) while Marcos was nervous and impatient. only good thing was Goran Ivanisevic , Marin’s mentor, in Cilic’s box. and yes, Goran will participate at the ATP champions tour senior event set to take place in about two weeks time in Barcelona. lucky me.
