luckily enough Marcos will be seeded at the upcoming tournament in Indian Wells. so, he’ll be given a "bye" in their first round. it’s so good to see that he’ll be playing his first match on Saturday which probably helps him to live up to his billing. oops, Marcos opted to play the tournament’s doubles as well as singles, paired with Stan. Wawa is perhaps Marcos’ best friend on tour. it’s interesting, though, that Wawa recently clarified the important distinction between friendliness and friendship.

the official entry list for Monte-Carlo was released yesterday. looks like Marcos has changed his mind and added Monte-Carlo to his schedule. and, now his schedule seems endlessly packed until Wimbledon. well done, well put together, Marcos Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, April 12-18, Monte-Carlo, Monacohave to admit that i secretly hoped he’d add Barcelona because i’ll be there… anyway, good thing that la crème de la crème of clay court specialists will be there. i don’t need to see Marcos struggling to make an impact on clay.

Enjoy Barcelona Getta. Don't think I'll get to MC this year because of some family stuff, but I'll be in Rome for a few days, and then in Munich, Roland Garros and Wimbledon - so I will do my best to cheer for Marcos for you. Oh - and see also Marcos will play Halle and not Queens this year.

Oh - and see also Marcos will play Halle and not Queens this year. tight but fascinating schedule; i’m envious of you. as for Halle, if the choice is between Queens and Halle, then Marcos clearly prefers the latter. getting a chance to play against Federer in a tune-up tournament before Wimbledon and the retractable roof - not to mention Marcos’ special preference for Halle training facilities – look too big to ignore. and if Marcos plays his cards right this time, the surface-based Wimbledon seeding system will be very convenient to use.

I would do more if that boring thing called work didn't get in the way! Guess you're right about the reasons for Halle, Personally it is a disaster for me as I can walk to Queens from home and don't need to take time off work etc, and I was hoping he might play there this year as they gave him a Wild Card in 2009. But the reasons you give here are valid and the retractable roof is definitely a plus, and one of the reasons Novak also chose Halle last year.

tennisnow.com/News/Sam-Querrey,-Marcos-Baghdatis-Enter.aspx Sam Querrey, Marcos Baghdatis Enter New HavenPhoto Credit: Tony Chang/Chang Photography(June 1, 2010) Sam Querrey and Marcos Baghdatis are headed to New Haven in August and you can watch the opening night of action for a buck. Querrey, the 2009 New Haven finalist, and former top 10 player Baghdatis have committed to Pilot Pen Tennis at Yale, an Olympus US Open Series event on the ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, to be held August 20-28 at the Connecticut Tennis Center. Daily tickets for the Pilot Pen are now on sale. Middle tier tickets for the first evening session on Monday, August 23rd, which typically are $20, will be available for $1, but that special offer is valid only from today through June 4th. Last year, more than 5,000 tickets were sold through this unique offering, so fans will want to take advantage before they are gone. The tournament will announce other ticket offers leading up to the Pilot Pen, which will feature World No. 3 and two-time defending champion Caroline Wozniacki, in addition to Querrey and Baghdatis. Querrey, currently 23 years-old and ranked No. 22 in the world, has had a strong start to the 2010 season winning the third and fourth singles titles of his career at Memphis and Belgrade, and capturing two doubles titles at San Jose (with Mardy Fish) and Memphis (with John Isner). In 2009 Querrey had the best season of his young career highlighted by a strong summer hardcourt season that included a victory in Los Angeles and finals appearances at Newport, Indianapolis and the Pilot Pen where he captured the 2009 Olympus US Open Series itle. His 2009 campaign was cut short, quite literally, at a tournament in Bangkok when the glass table he was sitting on collapsed, cutting his right arm, which required stitches. The cut narrowly missed damaging nerves in his serving arm that could have ended his career. This will be his third trip to the Pilot Pen. Baghdatis, once one of the fastest rising stars in the game, has battled back from debilitating injuries and is once again fulfilling the potential that all fans had come to admire. In 2006 he reached the finals of the Australian Open, semifinals at Wimbledon, and rose to No. 8 in the world. After an injury marred 2008, the Cypriot won three challenger titles and captured the third ATP title of his career at Stockholm in 2009. He continued his impressive play this year by winning his fourth career title at Sydney, and then this spring he upset World No. 1 Roger Federer at Indian Wells, his first career win over Federer. Afterwards Baghdatis called it the best win of his career. He is currently ranked No. 30 in the world, and this will be his fourth trip to the Pilot Pen. "Sam Querrey had a great run last year at the Pilot Pen, and he is well on his way to becoming a permanent face for American tennis," said tournament director Anne Worcester. "Adding Sam, along with Marcos, who has played brilliantly this year and has world-class talent, means that the fans will once again be treated to terrific tennis action and get great value for their tickets. The Pilot Pen is an affordable entertainment opportunity and the $1 ticket promotion is just one example of the great values we offer.” For tickets, how to become a volunteer, or more information about the tournament, please call the Pilot Pen Tennis Box Office, (888) 99-PILOT, (203) 776-7331, or log on to www.pilotpentennis.com.
