from Marcos' official site:baghdatis.com/articles/view/marcos-into-winston-salem-quartersMarcos Into Winston-Salem QuartersMarcos finished strongly on Wednesday to dismiss Belgium’s Steve Darcis 7-5, 6-0 and reach the quarter-finals of the Winston-Salem Open. Trailing 3-5 in the first set, having lost serve in the seventh game, Marcos reeled off 10 straight games to claim victory in 73 minutes. “I played a very solid match today,” Marcos told his web site. “I returned really well. I am happy that I kept a positive attitude even when I was a break down.” Marcos is through to his fifth quarter-final of the season and second of the summer, after reaching the last eight in Washington D.C. He goes on to face big-serving American John Isner, whom he will hope to beat for the first time in their third meeting. “It’s always tough to play against guys like him with big serves,” admitted Marcos. “But I’ll try to get some revenge from Montreal...” The match is scheduled to take place first on Center Court on Thursday, beginning at 1pm local time (5pm GMT, 8pm Cyprus). Stay tuned to www.baghdatis.com for all the latest news.

Marcos lost to Isner 1-6 6-3 6-4. Isner raised his game in the second set and Marcos was not able to find any answers. his lapses in concentration didn't help either... i just hope Marcos brings a completely different mindset at Flushing Meadows next week, is more stable and knows how to think right. good luck, Marcos, at the US Open.
