Marcos skips Monte Carlo, lol. i'll be there next month. Monte Carlo is an unbelievably good tournament. it's also the best predictor for Roland Garros largely because the surface is very similar to Roland Garros. i'm pretty sure i'll enjoy some great performances there. ;D my beloved clay season is just around the corner.

last month his struggling team once more relied on Marcos to avoid relegation to Europe/Africa Group III and Marcos once more fulfilled his duty as the respectable leader of the Cyprus team when he beat Morocco by himself.
so, i hope this time Marcos is not such an idiot to play the Davis Cup tie in Dnipropetrovsk on April 6th.

our undestanding; he is not playing Davis Cup.
Davis cup can wait till next year .... (Ukraine is too strong team to beat then away).
Markos is chasing Borg for the record of 33 straight single wins in Davis Cup. He has already had 31 straight wins .... (It is too risky go to Ukraine expecting to make 2 single wins)

our undestanding; he is not playing Davis Cup. brilliant decision making by Marcos. Dolgopolov once said "Tennis is not a political sport as such as football. In tennis you choose what is best for you, where there are more prospects" and thereafter avoided playing the DC. undoubtedly, this young man has a great future ahead. still, Sergiy Stakhovsky and Illya Marchenko alone are miles ahead of the Cyprus team bar Marcos. even if Marcos had 133 consecutive wins in Davis Cup singles rubbers, Borg's record would still be far superior to Marcos' since there's light-years of difference between teams in World Group and teams in Europe/Africa Group II.

Marcos has committed to play AEGON International, to be hosted June 18-24 in Eastbourne UK. www.lta.org.uk/fans-major-events/LTA-summer-grass-court-events/AEGON-International/News/2012/Marcos-Baghdatis-confirms-AEGON-International-entry/01/05/2012
Marcos Baghdatis confirms AEGON International entryWorld No.41 Marcos Baghdatis will complete his preparations for The Championships, Wimbledon by competing at the AEGON International in June. The 26 year-old Cypriot reached the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2006, and went on to reach a career high world ranking of No.8 two months later. The AEGON International takes place from June 16-23, and provides a final opportunity for some of the world’s best players to compete on grass before The Championships, Wimbledon, which starts the following week. Baghdatis said: “I'm very much looking forward to coming to Eastbourne and competing in the AEGON International this year." “I've always loved playing tennis on the grass and I'm told the courts at Devonshire Park are up there with the best in the country, so should serve me well going into Wimbledon." “Eastbourne is not a venue I have played at before but I have only heard good things about it so I can’t wait to see for myself what it’s like.” Italy’s Andreas Seppi won the men’s tournament in 2011, whilst World No.7 Marion Bartoli scooped the women’s title in a draw which featured 13 of the world's top 20 female players. This year’s event will offer fans free entry on Kids Day, the opening Saturday of the tournament with a Legends match confirmed for Father’s Day on Sunday 17th June. The players competing in the Legends event will be announced in the coming week.
