From the site of the event: Two Tie-Breaks from Tursunov and Baghdatis
Russian Dmitry Tursunov advanced to the second round of the St Petersburg Open following a dramatic two tie-break win over the Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis (7:6 (7:3), 7:6 (7:3)). Both players confidently held their serves in the first set until Baghdatis made two mistakes in a tie-break including a double fault on set point. The second set was of a less predictable nature. Tursunov broke twice at the start of the set and had a match ball at 5:2. Suddenly, Tursunov seemed to lose his game and he lost four games in a row. However, unlike Badghatis, who could not cope with the strain, the fourth seed managed to pull himself together at the decisive moment and hardly made any mistakes in the tie-break. The Russian’s 6:1 lead allowed him to finish the match in his favor on the third try. “It was a good match, both of us showed good tennis I think but Dmitry was very good, unfortunately for me, in both tie-breaks,” said Marcos Baghdatis after the match. www.spbopen.ru/eng/news/267.html
