Clément won't be an easy match for sure. Last time they played in Lyon, Marcos lost. Hope he has his revenge today.

I have nothing against Clément. But there are circumstances where I can't cheer for him.

Well, we knew this match wouldn't be easy. Marcos won 6-2 6-7 7-6. He served for the match at 5-4 in the 2nd set, because of an early break. But Clément is a fighter, he broke back, obliging Marcos to play a tiebreak, and finally won the 2nd set, bringing it to 1 set all. And they needed a tiebreak to decide of the winner in that decisive set. Wow!!
Now Marcos plays Alexander Peya in the semi today. Match scheduled on Center Court at 2PM.

From the site of the tournament:
In the other semifinal Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis will meet Austrian qualifyier Alexander Peya, who continued his amazing run by defeating Frenchman Michael Llodra. Baghdatis won against Arnaud Clement by 6:2, 6:7 (2), 7:6 (5), after serving for match at 5-4 in the second set. Winner was decided in the third set tie-breaker - Baghdatis was up 5-0, Clement shortened to 5-6 but Cypriot won the next point and advanced to his first semifinals of 2007.
From ATP.com:
Peya will next tackle second-seeded Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis, who battled into the semifinals by defeating No. 8 seed Arnaud Clement 6-2, 6-7(2), 7-6(5).
Baghdatis saved three break opportunities earned by the Frenchman in the third set, and rolled out to a commanding 5-2 lead in the decisive tie-break before closing the victory in two hours and 27 minutes.
The 21-year-old will be appearing in his first semifinal of the 2007 season. He last reached the semifinals September in Beijing, where he succeeded in winning his first career title.

It seems Marcos is going well with those tiebreaks even though he lost the 2nd set. I think he can qualify for the final

Baghdatis Chases Second Career ATP Crown
Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis halted Austrian Alexander Peya's career-best run at an ATP-level tournament Saturday at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors, dispatching the qualifier 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals.
The second-seeded Baghdatis pushed through to his first ATP semifinal of the season after surviving Friday's battle with Frenchman Arnaud Clement, the No. 8 seed, in the third-set tie-break. He turned in quarterfinal finishes at his first two tournament appearances of the season, in Doha and Sydney, before falling in the second round at the Australian Open to Gael Monfils.
Peya recorded wins over Andreas Seppi, third seed Robin Soderling and Michael Llodra en route to his debut in an ATP semifinal. The 26-year-old was appearing in his first ATP tournament of 2007.
The 21-year-old Baghdatis has a 1-2 career record in ATP-level finals, defeating Croat Mario Ancic for the Beijing title in September and finishing as the runner-up at the 2006 Australian Open (l. to Federer) and in 2005 at Basel, where he was a qualifier (l. to Gonzalez).
Baghdatis, who entered the Australian Open just outside the Top 10 in the ATP Rankings but fell to No. 21 following his early exit, will look to regain ground when he takes on the winner of the Ivan Ljubicic-Mikhail Youzhny semifinal. He defeated Ljubicic in their previous two encounters while Youzhny holds the 1-0 advantage against the Cypriot. www.atptennis.com/1/en/news/news4.asp

Ljubicic will be on the way to the Trophy. I'm expecting a tight encounter. Marcos is 2-0 in the head to heads, but Ljubo is home, and he's very good when it comes to indoor events.
Anyway, allez Marcos!! Give your best!!

The final is scheduled at 2PM, on Center Court. Maybe eurosport.com will show it in its livestream. They haven't showed anything from the semis, but some matches have been covered previously. So, fingers crossed!!
