Marcos is back on the tour. Let's hope 2008 is a good year for him. May he stay injury free. Chennai is the 1st event he's gonna play. It's a return to competition, after the winter break. So, I don't have much high expectation. Just hope he has some good matches before the AO. Pame Marcos!!

Marcos lost to Haase 3-6 4-6. Let's say Haase got his revenge from last year.
Just hope Marcos can keep on training for the AO, and having fun in the doubles.

About the match against Haase: ATP Tour - Baghdatis falters in opener Eurosport - Tue, 01 Jan 14:58:00 2008
Second seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus was beaten in the first round of the Chennai Open by unseeded Dutchman Robin Haase.
Baghdatis, world number 16 and a 2006 Australian Open finalist, went down 6-3 6-4, leaving his preparations for the year's first grand slam in tatters.
He failed to find his rhythm in his first singles game of the season against Haase, who used his height advantage, a stunning forehand and drop shot to great effect.
The 22-year-old Cypriot, gesturing to his coach in frustration, produced a last-gasp effort by saving five matchpoints in the marathon final game before losing in one hour 24 minutes.
The Dutch number one, who is ranked a modest 114 in the world, took a set off Baghdatis in last year's Canadian Masters first round.
"I don't know what to say," said a dejected Baghdatis who was using the event as preparation for the Australian Open, which starts on January 14.
"I tried things that didn't work. He was serving very well. He had nothing to lose and he was confident."
Haase, 20, said: "He is a great player but it also gives you the chance to play great. Today, I didn't play the game he likes. He wasn't at his best and I took advantage."
Haase broke Baghdatis's serve in the second game to go up 4-1 before claiming the first set in just over 30 minutes.
The Cypriot again dropped serve in the first game of the second set. Haase went 4-2 up but was a bundle of nerves serving for the match as the final 10th game went to deuce 10 times.
The Dutchman eventually converted his sixth matchpoint when Baghdatis returned into the net.uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/01012008/58/atp-tour-baghdatis-falters-opener.html

Hope Marcos and Marc win the title today. Speaking of Marcos, I see him heading into Melbourne leaving behind the disappointment of his 1st round loss to R. Haase.
