Marcos will play the Davis Cup tie in April. Cyprus - Slovenia (Europe/Africa Zone Group II) April 11-13, 2008 Nicosia, Cyprus (clay) www.daviscup.com/ties/ea2.aspFortunately, Marcos is an experienced player in doubles now. 1. He reached the semis in Basel (playing with Stan). 2. He reached the final in Chennai (playing with Marc). It is well known that Marcos is "obliged" to win both singles and paired with Photos to win the doubles match as well. In other words, the whole Cypriot team is based on Marcos' shoulders. An additional pressure for Marcos, as if he is not stressed enough with his personal career.

Marcos commited to play the tournament in Las Vegas from March 3rd to March 9th. www.tennisnews.com/exclusive.php?pID=23183It's good for Marcos to play a small warm-up tournament in Nevada before heading to California for the bigger one at Indian Wells.

Marcos plays Rotterdam. He got the 3rd Wild Card. www.abnamrowtt.nl/nieuwsdetail.aspx?SN=2097Obviously, he won't play Zagreb. He MUST have a free week between Rotterdam and Las Vegas. Starting Las Vegas he plays almost every week until Wimbledon: Las Vegas, Indian Wells, Miami, Davis Cup, Monte-Carlo, Rome, Hamburg, Roland Garros, Halle, Wimbledon. After Wimbledon, Marcos will be exhausted to tears. With tears of joy as well, I hope.

Choupi, main draw for Surbiton challenger has been released. Marcos is the no.1 seeded player here. Unfortunately, I can't post the MD as new threads have traditionally been started by the moderator.

Marcos will play the Davis Cup tie in July. Portugal - Cyprus (Europe/Africa Zone Group II) July 18-20, 2008 Porto, Portugal (clay) www.daviscup.com/ties/tie.asp?tie=100010199Once more, the success of the Cypriot team will depend on Marcos' overall 'patriotism'. The same concept goes for the Olympic Games. Well, everybody knows that stance could lead to catastrophic consequences for Marcos' personal career. I'm also a huge Richard Gasquet's and Andy Murray's tennis fan. So proud of them whenever I hear they refuse to play Davis Cup ties and Olympic Games for their countries. On the other hand, I have to admit that I've lived in many countries. Thus, the term 'patriotism' has an indefinite and broad meaning for me. I would say that the Roman quote "ubi bene ibi patria" suits me best. Anyway, huge topic that is. Perhaps I could cut it short if I said: "Football hooligans are not the target group of this message board".

I was just so happy to hear that Marcos refused to play the Davis Cup tie in Portugal. He showed some "wilanders" at last.
