Marcos makes the quarter-finals!! Woohoo! He defeated Nishikori and will play Isner. From the ATP site: A resurgent Marcos Baghdatis upset second seed Kei Nishikori 6-1, 6-2 in the third round of the Citi Open, needing less than an hour to oust the World No. 11. Nishikori had dispatched American youngster Jack Sock earlier on Thursday, after their second round duel was postponed due to rain.
With the win, Baghdatis is through to his first quarter-final since the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, in February. The Cypriot hadn’t won an ATP World Tour match since then, prior to this week. The 2010 Washington runner-up will face John Isner in the quarter-finalswww.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2013/07/31/Washington-DC-Thursday-Raonic-Fish-Isner.aspxFriday Order of Play:Stadium Court Start 1:00 pmDmitry Tursunov (RUS) vs Marinko Matosevic (AUS) Not Before 4:00 PM [8] John Isner (USA) vs [16] Marcos Baghdatis (CYP)Come on Marcos!!

Unfortunately Marcos lost to Isner after a close match. From the ATP site: Eighth seed John Isner advanced to the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour 500 event in Washington, D.C. with a tightly contested 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 victory over former finalist Marcos Baghdatis on Friday.
Baghdatis edged Isner in the first-set tie-break, but the 6' 10" American hit back to claim one break of serve in each of the second and third sets. Isner did not face a single break point and fired 18 aces to compete the match in just under two hours.
"Even though I lost the tie breaker in the first set I held it together and played very well in the last two sets," said Isner. www.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2013/07/31/Washington-DC-Friday-Tursunov-Isner-Baghdatis.aspxAnyway, Marcos tasted victory again this week and that's what matters
