The stadium in Salo is rather small. It gets easily filled with Finnish tennis fans, I reckon. This reminds me of the indifference of the Cypriot tennis fans towards Marcos... An Aussie friend travelled to Cyprus for the tie between Ireland and Cyprus... I quote him: "i'm amazed to see how a country of 700,000 couldnt rally to support a recent grandslam finalist, even struggling to half fill a stadium the capacity of 2000... yet, those same knockers are the ones who never showed... and post puzzled question on what is happening, when what is happening happened in their very backyard..."I was surprised to hear that the extrovert Cypriots failed in their duty of care to Marcos. I have no doubt the introvert Finns will prove themselves to be far warmer than expected.  |

Despite being a Marcos' fan forever, clearly I have a big soft spot for Jarkko, who doesn't? Besides, the Finns are a more balanced team, for sure. The guys deserve the promotion they seek, since they've recently showed they can cope without Jarkko as well.
Hope Finland gets this.
