From the ATP site: Wild cards Marcos Baghdatis and Taylor Dent were both made to work hard for their opening-round wins Monday at the inaugural Proton Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2009, one of the ATP World Tour 250 indoor hard-court tournaments to kick start the Asian swing.
Former World No. 8 Baghdatis, who has struggled to regain his best form this season after months on the sidelines in 2008 due to a succession of injuries, needed two hours and 49 minutes to edge past Chinese Taipei’s Yen-Hsun Lu 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(5). After levelling the match at one-set-all, the Cypriot twice served for victory in the 10th and 12th games of the third set, and held multiple match point opportunities, before closing out the win in a deciding tie-break.
The 24-year-old Baghdatis, currently just one place outside the Top 100 of the South African Airways 2009 ATP Rankings, has enjoyed success in Asia before, capturing his maiden ATP World Tour title at the 2006 China Open (d. Ancic). He next goes on to face either seventh-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer or Russian Mikhail Youzhny.www.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2009/09/Kuala-Lumpur-Monday-Dent-Battles-Through.aspx

Marcos lost to Youzhny 6-2 6-3. Having seen Marcos' match against Lu, I have to admit that I'm not surprised a bit. Onto Beijing's stage.
