one has to assume that Marcos would feel relieved not to have handed a horror draw.

Marcos felt quite happy and joyful being thrashed by Gillou three years ago. www.fft.fr/open13/2007/?id=2573now he’s mature enough to avoid that disastrous scenario repeating itself. then again, if the worst should happen, Marcos would leave the court sobbing silently and crying unwet tears… he’s shown signs of fantastic maturity in recent months…

Marcos took the first set 7-6(3) in 58 minutes. Marcos started holding his stomach almost halfway through the set and called the trainer in the tenth game… he certainly doesn’t look 100% comfortable. vamos Marcos!

It was the pair’s first meeting in nearly three years. The Cypriot, who received treatment for an upset stomach in the first set, hit 14 aces for victory in one hour and 43 minutes. He captured his fourth ATP World Tour title at the Medibank International Sydney title (d. Gasquet) last month and has an 11-4 record on the season. Simon, appearing in his second ATP World Tour tournament of the year after being sidelined by a knee injury, reached the 2009 Dubai semi-finals (l. to eventual champion Djokovic).

according to Georgie, and Georgie’s opinion matters enough (tennis-wise speaking, of course ), Somdev has no real weapons, but the guy seems like he can run for 24 hours not looking like he's tired, and loves the long rallies… yet, he’s reluctant to go for his shots when required… the interesting thing is that Somdev’s serve has improved dramatically lately… it would be absolutely stupid to underestimate Somdev’s skill is all i'm saying.

since Berrer promised an absorbing encounter, i just hope Marcos won’t see his dreams dashed tonight… assuming that he actually wants to go a little farther, then he has to dig a little deeper to defeat the huge German with the massive smash… i expect a tricky match tonight that could go either way for Marcos.
