From the ATP site: [...] In Saturday's second semi-final, fifth seed Marcos Baghdatis will face seventh seed Gilles Muller for the first time. Baghdatis scored a 6-4, 7-6(5) upset of World No. 29 Vasek Pospisil in one hour and 43 minutes. The Cypriot needed seven set points to wrap up the opener after squandering a 5-1 lead and he would rally from a 1-4 deficit in the second set tie-break. Baghdatis advanced to his third ATP World Tour semi-final berth of the year (Zagreb, Nottingham) and will seek his first final appearance in four years.
"I think I was controlling the match until 5-2 when I served for the set at 40/15," said Baghdatis. "I lost concentration there and gave some free points. I think he was playing more aggressive than me.
"In the end I found a way to win. I turned it around and played an unbelievable point at 5-all in the tie-break. I won the most important points and that made the difference."
Muller made quick work of Go Soeda, prevailing 7-5, 6-1 in 72 minutes. The 2012 Atlanta runner-up will also contest his third ATP World Tour semi-final this year, previously falling in Sydney and 's-Hertogenbosch. "It wasn't easy," said Muller, who won a perfect 27 of 27 first serve points. "It was the first time I played at night. It was tough to get used to it. When I had the chance to be aggressive I did and I came out as the winner. "I know Marcos very well. We had been practising as teenagers in an academy in Paris. We've been good friends since then and we've never played each other, so it will be nice." www.atpworldtour.com/en/news/atlanta-2015-friday-isner-pospisil

Sadly, Marcos failed making it complete this week as J. ISNER defeated him 6-3 6-3. But it's been a great week for him anyway and congrats for his achievement Marcos's own words after the final: Baghdatis, who is also 30, was aiming to end a title drought which dates back to 2010 in his first ATP World Tour final since 2011. He said an abductor injury that he had been battling since before Nottingham flared up during the final, which made it impossible to compete at 100 per cent.
“I played five matches this week…the good thing is that it’s nothing serious,” Baghdatis said, explaining that he has an inflamed tendon. "I didn't play my best tennis this week but I'm pretty happy with my mental side, I found ways to win." www.atpworldtour.com/en/news/atlanta-2015-sunday-isner-finalOnto Washington now
